Part of the Jamaica Worldwide reggae artist series: trending artists.

Who He Is

Malie Donn, born Kimalie Hylton, comes from Jones Avenue in Spanish Town, St Catherine, and grew up in Waterford, Portmore. His love of music took root at Waterford Primary and grew at Bridgeport High School.

The Rise

“V6” made him one of the fresh voices of trap-flavoured dancehall and became one of Jamaica’s biggest global hits of 2023. He followed it with the EPs The Grand Rising (2024) and Leak the Hard Drive (2025) on VP Records, and on 4 September 2026 released his 21-track debut album Golden Child, its title track featuring Squash. His “Van Cleef” series then took off, with the first two parts passing 20 million combined streams within about four months.

Why He’s Trending

“Van Cleef Pt 3” arrived on 27 October and went straight to number one on Apple Music’s Jamaica top songs chart, with Pt 2 at number two and the original at number three. He has around 20 songs in that top 200, and three in Jamaica’s Dancehall Chart top 25 for 23–29 October.

Trending as of 31 October 2026.
